Em 26.9.1828, partia do Porto de Bremen,Alemanha o 26º embarque de Imigrantes 

Alemães para o Brasil, era a bordo do veleiro transatlantico Olbers que viaja o imigrante Leonhard VOLZ com sua esposa Maria Catharina ROTH. O Olbers chegou a cidade do Rio de Janeiro no dia 17.12.1828. Navio especialmente preparado para o transporte de pessoas transportou 874 passageiros entre eles muitas famílias que se radicaram na Colônia Alemã de São Leopoldo. Oriundos da cidade de Niederlinxweiler, no estado de Saarland (Sudoeste da Alemanha, fronteira com a França). O Casamento foi oficiado em 14.5.1816 em Niederlinxweiler,Notas s/casamento Leonhard & Maria Catharina Casamento religioso realizado em Niederlinxweiler; casamento civil em 28.4.1816,
 em Ottweiler (Sta. Otw. nr. 20).

Notas s/ Leonhard VOLZ

Ou: Voltz cfe. registros ev lut no Brasil. Imigrante chegado em S. Leopoldo em 18.3.1829. Estabeleceu-se inicialmente como colono na Picada Rio Cadeia (citado em 1834), transferindo-se mais tarde para Padre Eterno (Sapiranga). Foi um dos presbíteros da Comunidade Ev. de Campo Bom no período de 1845 a 1851, sendo responsável pela área de Padre Eterno (Ev Lut Campo Bom - notas do pastor Recke). É citado em cartas escritas pelos imigrantes Philipp Elicker (maio de 1845) e Joh. Nikolaus Fuchs. Leonhard Volz era cunhado desse Fuchs (Site Niederlinxweiler/Auswanderer); Gilson Justino 106/32; M Brühl.

Citada em 1838 como madrinha de batismo de Maria Catharina Haerter em Picada Rio Cadeia (Ev Lut São Leopoldo, Livro 3, Batismos).
